Jonny Bruce

Jonny Bruce

Pictured here at Jazz Club Soho, trumpeter Jonny Bruce first emerged onto the UK jazz scene as a member of the Dave Stapleton Quintet (Edition Records). He is busy as a guest soloist and session player, both live and in the studio. In 2013, he received critical acclaim for his Cootie Williams’ solos in the Duke Ellington Sacred Concert at Bristol International Jazz and Blues Festival. Jonny has just released an EP with the Zen Hussies, and is also touring with gypsy swing group, Moscow Drug Club. He is about to record a big band album playing lead trumpet in an all-star line-up with Swing Machine Jazz Orchestra.

They are just a few of the RWCMD graduates currently in production roles at the theatre. Deputy Stage Manager Anna has worked on productions including His Dark Materials, Phedre, and on the NT Live broadcasts. Senior Sound Technician Masha has worked on more than 50 shows over the last eight years, and Lighting Technician Dani first worked at the theatre on a professional placement in 2010 as part of her final year at RWCMD.

Tom Cullen

Tom Cullen

Tom was named most promising newcomer at the British Independent Film Awards in 2011 following his performance in the low budget film, Weekend. He was also named as one of Screen International's Stars of Tomorrow. He spent six months filming the HBO mini-series World Without End produced by Ridley Scott, and has recently completed filming on two more films: Desert Dancer and Last Days on Mars, both due for release in 2013. Tom has recently been cast as Lord Anthony Gillingham – a potential suitor for Lady Mary Crawley – in series 4 of ITV’s Downton Abbey.

Justina Gringytė

Justina is photographed at the National Opera Studio, where she spent one year on its prestigious training programme. For the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons, Justina joined the Jette Parker Young Artist Programme at Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.

Hannah Stone

Hannah Stone

Hannah Stone was appointed Harpist to HRH The Prince of Wales while still a postgraduate student at RWCMD. She recently featured in the world premiere of Karl Jenkins’ St Asaph’s Dance, commissioned by the North Wales Music Festival, and gave a recital for the Victor Salvi Foundation in Milan, Italy. In spring 2013, she performed with Catrin Finch in the College’s Dora Stoutzker Hall as part of the Lyon & Healy International Harp Festival.

Aysha Kala

Aysha Kala

Actor Aysha Kala graduated in 2012. She was nominated for an Offie (Off West End Award) in the Best Actress category for her performance in the title role of Khadija is 18 by Shamser Sinha, directed by Tim Stark and produced by B29 Productions; and for a coveted Ian Charleson Award for her performance in Much Ado About Nothing with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Aysha has also appeared in Channel 4’s Shameless and the ITV sitcom Vicious with Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Derek Jacobi.

Tom Scutt

Pictured here at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-on-Avon where he designed the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of Romeo and Juliet. Tom has also designed productions for the National Theatre and the Royal Court Theatre and is currently working on a new West End production of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.
